Happy Thanksgiving

Remember this little girl? This was Thanksgiving 2008.

This is the same chair a year later.

I can't believe it is Thanksgiving again. It was two years ago on Thanksgiving that we told our whole family that we were having a baby. Now two years later Shannon is 18 months old and we are just having a blast in this stage. Thanks to Aunt Alyson Shannon was really a part of this year's Thanksgiving dinner and she loved it.

Happy Halloween

My little bumble bee.

Shannon was a bumble bee this year, and yet again her costume was quite snug. Had Halloween come a week later I'm not sure she would have fit into it. But she was a good sport and wore that costume all night even though it was 65 degrees.

Where's Shannon

Can you see her?

Pumpkin Carving

So we picked out the perfect pumpkins and now there was nothing left to do but carve the perfect pumpkin. Shannon rolled her sleeves up and got right into it. She thought we were emptying one pumpkin into the other. It was really cute. Her beloved stuffed "Sheepy" got in on the action as well. I needed to smuggle him away to clean off all that pumpkin.

Picking the Perfect Pumpkin

I'm going to try and catch up on some blogging. My hard drive crashed... so I lost our apple picking pictures. So sad but everything else was backed up on my iPod thankfully. So we are jumping to Halloween.

I took Shannon to Sunnyside Gardens to pick out the perfect pumpkin. They have a maze, pumpkin patch, a train, hayrides, banjo players and red wagons (Shannon's favorite part).

A Shannon Original

Shannon took her first plunge into the world of paints this week at Day Care. Now that she has graduated to the "Waddlers" room they are introducing more arts and crafts. I can't believe my baby is sitting on a real chair at the table and sleeping on a cot for naps no more cribs. Time is flying by.

Natural

She's a natural I tell you. Loves horses and I'm not pushing it (though her grandmother may be).

Off to Ohio

Our biggest road trip ever. We loaded up the car and all of our gear. We really need a bigger car by the way. We tried to rent a minivan but were totally left in the cold by Enterprise about 2 hours before I was supposed to pick up the car. Oh well the subaru made the trip. We stopped at Niagara Falls on our way out (American side) and got out and walked around a bit. Such an amazing place and really enjoyable at 8:30am.

We were so honored to be god-parents to little Rafael and it was great visiting with the Bersani's and Rosenberger's.

Lauren and Dan's Wedding

It's been a while since I have blogged. Too busy this summer I guess. Here are some pictures of Lauren's wedding. It was a great weekend we had so much fun with family and friends. The weekend starts off with a great rehearsal dinner at Orchard Creek and ends with the brunch the day after.

My New Sandbox

Shannon had so much fun in her cousin's sandbox that when I saw this on craigslist for $5 I had to get it. Also hit a major garage sale down the street this weekend and am really junking up the yard :)

Allie's 3rd Birthday

I finished the sweater I had been knitting for Allie for her birthday at 9pm Saturday night but hey I finished. Of course I forgot to take some pictures before I handed it over. I did however get some fun pictures of the kids playing and Allie wearing her crown. Great birthday and perfect weather. I don't think I have ever seen Shannon so dirty. From the sandbox, to the water table to the swings and slide she was one tired little girl when we got home.

Playing with Friends

Shannon got a chance to play with her friends from Ohio July 4th weekend. Ryder, Rafael and Ashley were here for a short visit.

First Steps

This has been a monumental weekend. Saturday something just clicked with Shannon. She had enough of this crawling around and tried out her sea legs. I got a couple of steps from her on Saturday when she thought no one was looking and then nothing until Monday. She tried out her balance all day and when I finally picked her up and brought her home she showed off her first wobbly steps. I have them on video here. She's carrying a board that our friend Chandra made for us, she loves that board by the way Chandra if you are reading this. So here we are at the end of the week and she has progressed to full out walking around the house. It's so amazing how quickly it all has transpired. So here is the video of those few first steps. More walking footage to come soon.

My Box

Dale bought a new pair of shoes last week and left the box out for Shannon to play with. After debating about what to do with it and pushing it around the kitchen she opened it right up and sat down inside. Perfect fit.

Shannon's First Birthday

We had Shannon's first birthday this past Memorial Day weekend. It was a great weekend. I can't believe Shannon is one. I made Shannon a banana birthday cake for her birthday since she loves bananas.

Lauren's Bridal Shower

For those of you who couldn't make it I'm posting some pictures from Lauren's Bridal Shower. It was a great day. Thank you again to Alyson for hosting and for everyone for coming and sending your love.

Although Lauren didn't want any games we made her play this one where she answered questions about her future husband. Each one she got wrong she had to chew another piece of gum. Looks like she has a lot of studying up to do before the big day.

Knitting

I haven't updated my knitting projects lately but I finished my first piece of clothing for Shannon. I adapted this pattern Spring top but ended up making it a little too small. Opps. So she's basically outgrown it by the time I finished. Oh well I think she likes it. We'll make a bigger one next time.

Exploring the great outdoors

I have some cute pictures of Shannon I'm going to post. This was the fist nice weekend in April and our first exploration of the backyard. She's a fan, but would much prefer to put everything in her mouth. Here's to spring.
Hat's are for fools...

This grass looks tasty...

What's that?...

Later, I'm off...

Shannon's push toy

Here's a picture of Shannon's new push toy that Kiki/Grandma got her.

And then below is a video of what she really likes pushing around. Who needs toys when we have stools?
