Happy Holidays

Well I fought the crowds during black friday for a new camera and it paid off. I got some great holiday pictures of Shannon for our cards this year. If you didn't get a card here are the photos. Can't believe I captured this smile on film. Check back soon I have some video of Shannon rolling over and she's up on her knees rocking back and forth she'll be crawling in no time... yikes!!

Happy Thanksgiving

We have a lot to be thankful for this year. It's also Shannon's happy half birthday this week. We got her dressed up for her first holiday. Actually it was Thanksgiving last year that we told everyone she was on her way so she was kind of there last year.

Shannon even had some sweet potatoes to celebrate. She seems to dig veggies a little more than fruits these days we'll see if that sticks.

No seriously lady give me my food!!!

I love my bear

Here is a fun picture of Shannon and her big pink bear. My mother gave this to her when she was born and we pulled him out recently because she is almost bigger than him now. Unbelievable how fast time goes. Shannon not only loves her pink bear but her pink slippers also.

House Renovations

Sorry I have been slow to post these, but Dale finished the siding and windows a couple of weekends ago. So exciting!!! We can already tell what a big difference this is going to make this winter minus the draft from the original windows and vintage yellow aluminium siding. All that's left is to do the front porch but we have run out of money and the drive so that will wait until spring. Don't you love how I say "we".

Before

AFTER. YEAH!!! Looks great I love my husband.

Leaves, leaves and more leaves

Well today marked the start of our annual leaf raking. Everyone always says to us it doesn't seem like you have a lot of leaves. Well we do and this year I took the pictures to prove it. So this is round one taken last weekend. It's so sad because this weekend it doesn't even look like we raked yet. Oh well we are heading out again for round two and how ever many times we need to until it snows. I love the fall don't you???

Happy Halloween

I hope everyone had a great Halloween. Shannon started her day in an orange pumpkin sweat suit.

Then dressed up as a Pea Pod to help us answer the door. Wow I have learned not to buy a halloween costume in August she barely fit into it and was trying to push her scrunched up legs out the end of her pod.

Oh and I even captured on film the moment where she finally loses it with the pod!

Baptism

Yesterday was Shannon's baptism. It was an absolutely beautiful October day. She did great at the baptism, no crying for her when the priest poured the water over her head. We want to thank Emily and Tom for being godparents and for making the harrowing trip out of Vermont on Columbus day weekend to join us. Shannon wore the gown that I wore, my mother her sisters and all the rest of the cousins also all wore. It was really special to have her wear that dress thank you to my Aunt Sheila for getting that to us.

First Food

So we gave Shannon her first ever cereal the other night. I made it pretty soupy by adding a lot of breast milk. She didn't quite get it as you'll see in the video clip. We'll keep trying as she has taken a great interest in what we are eating these days. She did finally let me get near her with the spoon. At first she wanted nothing to do with it, which is odd because everything these days goes into her mouth. More messy eating videos to come.

Back to Work

My "summer vacation"... yeah right..... has finally come to an end. Sadly I returned to work this week, but it's OK Shannon had a great week with her grandmother so I had nothing to worry about. Plus Lauren got this great picture of Shannon for me of her smiling so I have it posted on my desktop at work. She starts daycare on Tuesday hopefully she will like it. Where does the time go?

My hand tastes great

Who knew that your hand could taste so good....

I love my exersaucer

So I finally took this out of the box on Friday. Boy there were a lot of parts : ) I bought one of these for my mom's house but it was already put together. That's OK Shannon and I got it done by the time Dale got home. We didn't even have any extra parts. She's still a little small for it so we put a towel in there to help prop her up and a telephone book under her feet but she loves it.

Shannon Says Hi

Hi everyone. We just wanted to take this opportunity to say hi. Shannon is getting a lot more interactive so we'll try to get her to smile here for you all soon.
We are going to try and post some more videos as this is a great way for all of you to get to see her. She's growing so fast it's unbelievable.

Swimming

Shannon is a fish and loves the bath so we thought we would give the pool a try. She loved it... or at least didn't scream at me hard to tell when they aren't smiling too much yet. Don't you just love her bathing suit?

First night in my crib

So Shannon has been getting a little cramped in her bassinet (see picture to the left) so we decided to give her crib a try last night. She's been taking naps in it so I put her down last night. She did great. I however was a nervous wreck, even though the crib is only about 10 steps away from my bed and Dale told me he didn't think I slept at all. She's getting so big!!! 7 weeks today. It's amazing they change every day. I promise to keep our blog updated better. Oh and Ashley I swear I'm not posing her arms like that she really does sleep with her hands up behind her head like that.

Happy Birthday Allie

Allie turned 2 and we celebrated with the Cogan's. Apparently Dale and Shannon celebrated themselves right out.

Grandma strikes again

Seriously I was only gone for like 20 min and I came back and this is what my mother had dressed the baby in :)

Home Improvements

So our new windows were supposed to be here and installed before the baby. But hold up the shipment of the windows a week or two and have your baby come a few weeks early and here we are. Doing home improvements and taking care of a newborn. Check out the before and after pics. We'll update them as we get our siding up, which Dale tells me will be before winter- but probably not much before then:)
